MINUTES SLEEPERS ISLAND ASSOCIATION SPRING 2009

June 13, 2009

Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 4:43:17 pm by President Mark Derderian at the home of Jack and Barbara Tellinghuisen, after the members had been socializing over what has become a festive presentation of appetizers and wine. (It’s getting harder to break up the social hour and get to the business, but that’s not a bad thing.)

Attendees
Those present in no particular order were: Mark Derderian, Jack and Barbara Tellinghuisen, Frank and Babs Glauner, Tom and Jean Barrett, Marc Gibson, Sam and Eileen Cavallaro, Fred and Linda Zimmerman, Mia Frabotta, Gary and Nadine Martin, Marion Slater, Dave and Mary Englehardt, Scott Mercer, Rich and Diane Dery and Nancy Bayek.

Secretary's/Treasurer's Report
The Secretary’s Report of the Minutes of the Fall Meeting were read and accepted. (Mot. M Derderian, 2nd B. Tellinghuisen.)
The Treasurers Report was presented by Nadine Martin, who also reported on the performance of the investments made with some SIA funds since last meeting. The details, (reflected in the attached report,) were accepted by the membership. (Mot. M. Derderian, 2nd B. Tellinghuisen.)

Island Business
Island Business
1.)An incident of a backhoe being run on the island was mentioned but not discussed in that it had been resolved by the parties directly involved.
2.) There was some discussion about septic systems and estimated prices on the island, all informative, but not resulting in any motions.
3.) Some discussion followed about possibly starting a list or site of businesses and tradesmen, (plumbers, electricians, builders and handymen,) used by members for inclusion on the website. The Web Master would be contacted and further action was delayed until a future time.
4.) The Election of Officers followed. Frank Glauner was nominated for the office of Vice President, he accepted and was voted in unanimously. (Mot. L. Zimmerman, 2nd F. Zimmerman.)
5.)For the Office of Treasurer, Nadine Martin volunteered to serve another 2 year term. (Mot. F. Zimmerman, 2nd J. Barrett.)

6.)Tom Barrett will move up from Vice President to President, replacing outgoing Mark Derderian.

Fall Meeting
The Fall Meeting was set for September 12th, 4:00pm, to be held at the Zimmermans’ house, 208 Sleepers Island.
